it's been awhile since i've been able to post.
i started working for wal-mart in september and have had a hectic time since then.
at first i was working all kinds of hours, sometimes morning, sometimes evening, never had two days off in a row so it felt like i was working all the time.

there is a bully in my life currently who wants to bully me and others who i know.
knowing that people say you should stand up to a bully, i did just that, and told him"where to go".
he backed off me, but has moved on to others i know who perhaps don't want to have the hassle of a confrontation with him, or don't feel able to confront him.
Throw him out of the plane without a Parachute!

this forum has uncovered many jws who were found out to be political officials.
if this information should be old to some,--then perhaps for those who have just left the borg, might find the information helpful to reinforce their freedom.
the thread is very long, so if it should not work, then please go to kent steinhaug's forum at watchtower observer.. http://kent.steinhaug.com/forum/showthread.php?s=f3aa440065982e1f53cc3efe02055681&threadid=2744 .
Why is this topic becoming an issue? We've had many interesting viewpoints, how about letting common sense prevail?

i've been seeing a very nice guy for two months now, every day, almost every minute.
as you know it can become very obvious when a guy is about to pop the question.. i have been very honest with him about when i'd be willing to marry, which is to say not until i graduate from college which is still a 1 1/2 years away, of course i hear things like "well a couple can wait but be commited right"?.
anyway i've bounced this off of my friends and have several opinions already but i thought i'd ask it here.. how long would you date someone before you considered accepting an engagement ring?
SS, you got plenty of suggestions and yes, take your time. You see my wife has been married for 41 years. (notice I said my wife?) We've known each each since childhood (she not being a witness) I married her when I was a JW and she was not. So, the picture I'm painting is, circumstances differ with one another. Some people can hit it off, others, welllllllllll, a painful and regretful experience. Relationship means compromises, yes, were in this together. Like a team of horses that plow a field, they share the pulling. If you team up a work horse with a race horse, donkey or mule to plow a field, expect problems. If your compatible, things will work out. It has for some on this forum. (Second time around for some)
All I can say is, I hope whatever decision you make works for your happiness. This by the way is not my opinion, but my experience. Of course, you need to hear my wife's side of the story! She wouldn't give you 's up. Then again, she may have pity on me.

i was a little surprised to learn that many people do not really understand the purpose of jwd.
many are focused on freedom of speech and the fact that this is a "discussion" board.
to some this does seem to go against the heavy moderating the board has seen lately, feeling that discussion is suppressed, some going so far as to suggest that mind control is subtly involved here as in the organization.
This post reminds me of the movie line in 'Cool Hand Luke' "What we have hear is a lack of communication."

Greetings. Nothing like a fresh new flow of blood! This board can always do for one. Welcome.

Min, by the time they get to read all the posts, they'll get the drift.

i find that the witnesses are very "haughty".
haughty is described in the oxford dictionary as "proud of oneself and looking down on others"; how well this describes the wtbts.. how many people were very proud of having "the troof"?
how many people felt that they were special.
Shamus, I gather you don't have a copy of 'Comprehensive Concordance.' Ideal to have for research. The following words are listed, Haughtily, Haughtiness and Haughty. I'll just select one at random, Ps.101:5, "Anyone slandering his companion in secrecy, him I silence. Anyone of haughty eyes and of arroganr heart him I cannot endure."
The word that catches my fancy is 'Presumptuous.'
